Description

Born in Buckie, Morayshire and brought up near Brechin, Angus. Harry began learning the chanter aged 8 at Lathallan School taught by Gordon Rogers. He went on to become Pipe Major and lead the pipe band at some well known locations including: Balmoral Castle, Glamis Castle and Scone Palace. From Lathallan he was awarded a music scholarship to Gordonstoun School on the strength of his piping. At Gordonstoun he grew the band from six individuals to two sizeable bands under the tutelage of Scott Oliphant. Haryr become Pipe Major in his final year and had the honour of piping for HRH Princess Royal on two occasions as well as two performances at  Buckingham Palace and playing The Flower of Scotland for the Scottish Rugby Team. 

After school Harry headed south to Durham University where he met his wife Laura and spent four years studying Mechanical Engineering. Outside of studies he played rugby for my college and was President of the University Piping Society, which provided pipers to weddings, funerals, Burns Suppers and other events. 

From Durham Harry continued his migration south, living in London for five years working for a large technology consultancy where he continued solo performances at numerous weddings and private functions including events at Twickenham Stadium, The Club at the Ivy, Lords Cricket Ground and the Oriental Club.

In 2015 Harry got married and moved to Oxford where he now works for a Manufacturing and Logistics company and plays with the Oxford Caledonian Pipe Band where he is currently Pipe Sergeant. In July 2017 Harry's family grew by one and little Ted is already showing an appreciation of the Great Highland Bagpipe!
